The movie begins with a group of popular high school students, including Dawson, accidentally hitting a man while driving drunk. Instead of calling the police, they cover up the crime and make a pact to never speak of it again.
One year later, on Friday the 13th, a bumbling masked killer begins stalking the group, killing them off one by one. The students start receiving threatening notes and phone calls, causing them to fear for their lives. As the body count rises, a local reporter named Hagitha Utslay covers the story and becomes determined to uncover the killer's identity.
Meanwhile, Dawson becomes the prime suspect due to his recent transfer to the school and the fact that he seems to have no alibi for the night of the hit-and-run. But Dawson claims to be innocent and sets out to clear his name with the help of his new friends.
As the group investigates, they discover that the killer is actually someone they all know and trust. In a climactic final showdown, the killer is unmasked and brought to justice. The survivors learn to come clean about their past mistakes and vow to never make the same ones again.
