Shrek Forever After is the fourth film in the Shrek franchise. The movie begins with Shrek becoming more and more discontent with his life as a stay-at-home dad. He misses the days when he was a feared and respected ogre, and longs to feel like himself again. Enter Rumpelstiltskin, a conniving dealmaker who offers Shrek a chance to relive just one day as a real ogre, in exchange for a day from Shrek's past.
Shrek agrees to the deal, but before he knows it, he's trapped in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away where ogres are hunted and he and Fiona have never met. Rumpelstiltskin is the king, and he's taken over the kingdom with his army of witches. Shrek must figure out how to break the curse and get back to his real life before it's too late.
Along the way, Shrek meets a resistance of ogres who are fighting against Rumpelstiltskin, and he also learns some important lessons about the importance of family and appreciating what you have. Despite the obstacles in his way, Shrek is determined to restore his world and reclaim his true love Fiona.
The movie features the same beloved characters from the previous Shrek films, including Donkey, Puss in Boots, and Dragon. It also introduces some new characters, including a witch named Cookie and a bounty hunter named Roderick. The animation is as colorful and whimsical as ever, and the humor is appropriate for both kids and adults.
