Shoot to Kill is a 1988 thriller film directed by Roger Spottiswoode. The movie follows FBI agent Warren Stantin (played by Sidney Poitier) as he chases after a criminal mastermind named Jonathan "Doc" Knox (played by Tom Berenger) who has kidnapped a wealthy businessman and led Stantin and his team on a dangerous chase through the rugged mountains of the Pacific Northwest.

Stantin, who is used to working in the city, must rely on the expertise of Knox, a veteran tracker who has spent most of his life in the wilderness. Despite their initial mistrust of each other, Stantin and Knox form a bond as they navigate dangerous terrain and avoid traps set by the cunning killer.

The tension ramps up when the killing spree continues and Knox's girlfriend Sarah (played by Kirstie Alley) becomes the killer's latest hostage. Stantin and Knox must work together to save Sarah and bring the killer to justice before it's too late.

Shoot to Kill features stunning scenery of the Pacific Northwest, intense action sequences, and great performances by Poitier, Berenger, and Alley. It received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike and is considered a classic of the thriller genre.
