The film Shocker was released in 1989 and was directed by horror icon Wes Craven. The story follows a young football player named Jonathan Parker who has the ability to dream of future events. Jonathan's dreams lead him to discover that his foster father, a local newscaster, has been brutally murdered by a serial killer nicknamed "Horace Pinker."
Jonathan teams up with his girlfriend and father's co-worker to help track down the killer, but their investigation leads to a violent confrontation with Pinker. Pinker is eventually caught and sentenced to death in the electric chair, but not before vowing to take revenge on Jonathan.
After Pinker is executed, his body is used for an experimental government project involving the transfer of consciousness using electricity. However, the experiment goes awry, and Pinker is resurrected as a powerful electric entity with the ability to possess and control others.
Pinker uses his newfound power to exact his revenge on Jonathan, targeting the football player's friends and loved ones. Jonathan soon realizes that the only way to stop Pinker is to enter the killer's dream world and defeat him on his own turf.
The film is known for its over-the-top gore and special effects, as well as its use of popular music throughout the soundtrack. Despite mixed reviews, Shocker has developed a cult following over the years and remains a favorite among horror fans.
