After Kunihide Kiyomaru is identified as the suspect in the murder of Ninagawa's granddaughter, the wealthy and influential government official offers a one-billion yen reward for whoever brings the killer to justice. This attracts the attention of a group of five police officers who task themselves with protecting Kiyomaru as they transport him from Fukuoka to Tokyo, where he will stand trial.
The team consists of the tough and determined Kazuki Mekari (Takao Osawa), the compassionate and conflicted Atsuko Shiraiwa (Nanako Matsushima), the skilled and level-headed Mikami (Hirotaro Honda), the brute force of Wakamiya (Masatoh Eve) and the rookie Tashiro (Ryunosuke Kamiki).
As they begin their journey, they soon realize that Kiyomaru is not an easy target as he has his own network of supporters who will stop at nothing to protect him. The journey is also complicated by internal conflicts within the team, especially as they start to question the morality of their job and whether the reward money is worth risking their lives.
The team encounters many obstacles and challenges along the way, including a fierce attack by Kiyomaru's supporters and the team members' personal dilemmas.
