Shaun, played by Simon Pegg, is a slacker who works at an electronics store, and spends most of his time drinking with his best friend Ed (played by Nick Frost) at the Winchester, his local pub. Shaun's girlfriend Liz (played by Kate Ashfield) is growing frustrated with their stagnant relationship, while his mother (played by Penelope Wilton) is constantly nagging him to take more responsibility in his life.
Suddenly, a zombie apocalypse breaks out in London, and Shaun and his friends find themselves in the midst of the chaos. They decide to seek refuge at the Winchester, where they can barricade themselves and wait for rescue. Along the way, they encounter other survivors and must fight off hordes of undead zombies.
Shaun of the Dead is a horror-comedy film, directed by Edgar Wright, and is the first film in the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, which also includes Hot Fuzz and The World's End. The film is known for its clever humor, satirical commentary on modern society, and homage to classic zombie films.
