As the competition between the housewives heats up, secrets and lies begin to unravel, exposing the darker side of their seemingly perfect lives. One housewife's husband has a wandering eye, another struggles with alcoholism, while another is secretly struggling with her own sexuality.
As the parties continue and the tensions rise, the housewives begin to engage in risky behavior, including affairs and even drug use. Despite the consequences that come with their actions, the women continue to push the boundaries of what is considered socially acceptable for a suburban housewife.
Amidst all the chaos, the group must come together to confront a common enemy, a new housewife who threatens their social standing. Ultimately, the women must decide whether their obsession with being the best hostess is worth sacrificing everything they hold dear.
Sex, Lies, and Sugar is a dark, satirical commentary on the pressures and expectations placed on women during the 1960s, as well as the social and political climate that defined the era.
