Seven Swords is a 2005 Hong Kong-Chinese martial arts action film directed by Tsui Hark. The movie is set in the 17th century during a time of war, when the Manchu rulers of the Qing Dynasty were expanding their borders and subjugating neighboring nations.

The General of the Qing army, played by Sun Honglei, is bent on destroying all resistance in his path, and his next target is a small village that harbors a secret that could threaten his plans for conquest. The General sends his soldiers to attack the village and wipe out its inhabitants.

In response, a group of seven warriors, each with their own unique skills, are hired to protect the village and its people. The seven swords of the title refer to seven legendary swords that are sought after by the General and his soldiers.

The seven warriors include Chu Zhaonan (played by Lau Kar-leung), a retired master swordsman with a tragic past; Han Zhibang (played by Leon Lai), a skilled marksman with a conflicted history; and Mulang (played by Charlie Yeung), a female warrior who is an expert in the art of trapping.

As the battle rages on, the seven warriors face formidable foes and challenges as they try to protect the village and the secret it holds. The movie features stunning action sequences, breathtaking visuals, and an epic storyline about sacrifice, loyalty, and honor.
