Seven Minutes in Heaven is a 1985 teen romantic comedy-drama film directed by Linda Feferman. The film revolves around 16-year-old Natalie Becker, who allows her classmate Jeff Moran to stay at her place while her father is away on a business trip. Jeff has run away from home after a fight with his stepfather, and Natalie thinks it's the right thing to do to offer him a place to stay.
When Natalie's father leaves for his business trip, she starts to spend more time with Jeff and begins to develop an attraction towards him. However, Jeff is still dealing with his own problems and isn't necessarily looking for a relationship. Meanwhile, Natalie's best friend Polly Ann tries to get the attention of the school's popular baseball star, Zoo Knudsen, but he doesn't seem to notice her.
Things take a turn when Natalie starts to date Jeff's friend James Casey, who isn't as faithful as she thinks. Natalie soon realizes that James isn't the right person for her, and she may have feelings for Jeff instead. The situation becomes even more complicated when Jeff's stepfather comes to Natalie's house looking for him.
Throughout the film, the characters deal with issues such as teenage love, loyalty, and family problems. The movie's title refers to a kissing game that the characters play at a party, where two people are locked in a closet for seven minutes and must kiss each other. Seven Minutes in Heaven is a heartwarming coming-of-age story that explores the ups and downs of teenage life.
