Session 9 is a psychological horror movie set in Danvers State Mental Hospital in Massachusetts, now abandoned and infamous for its notorious past and cruel treatment of patients. The movie centers on an asbestos cleaning crew of five men - Gordon, Phil, Hank, Jeff, and Mike - who are hired to remove asbestos from the decaying building over a week.

Gordon, the owner of the company and leader of the crew, is struggling to keep his business afloat due to mounting debts and a pending divorce from his wife. The more Gordon listens, the more he becomes consumed by the dark and twisted history of the hospital.
As the crew continues to work, they begin to see apparitions and have horrifying nightmares. Hank disappears, and his body is later found in the tunnels beneath the asylum. The remaining members suspect each other, but their sanity is questioned as the ghostly presence grows stronger. As they try to escape the haunted hospital, they soon realize that there may be no way out.
