Throughout the movie, Jackie Moon tries various schemes to boost attendance at Tropics games, including promoting outlandish stunts and performances. However, the team continues to struggle on the court and Jackie must confront his own limitations as a player and coach.
As the playoffs approach, tensions rise within the team as players begin to doubt Jackie's leadership and abilities. Jackie's former girlfriend, Lynn, becomes involved as well, adding to the drama both on and off the court.
Despite the odds against them, the Tropics manage to make it to the playoffs and Jackie must face off against rival team owner Ed Monix, who is also the coach of the Flint Tropics' biggest competitor, the San Antonio Spurs.
In a dramatic final game, Jackie must dig deep and find the courage and determination to lead his team to victory and secure their spot in the NBA. Along the way, he learns the true meaning of teamwork, perseverance, and what it takes to be a true champion.
