Bernie Dingledorf is a socially awkward 10-year-old boy who has always struggled to make friends and fit in at school. He is often the target of bullies who tease him for his strange interests and quirky behavior. But Bernie has a secret talent - he is an exceptional inventor who spends his free time building all sorts of gadgets and gizmos.
One day, Bernie discovers that the infamous Dr. Chuckles, a mad scientist who has been rumored to be working on a dangerous new invention, has moved into his neighborhood. Bernie is determined to investigate and find out what Dr. Chuckles is up to.
