The Mystic Detective: Finding Hope in Darkness

Comedy  United States of America

Second Sight is a 1989 comedy-drama film directed by Joel Zwick and starring John Larroquette as John Larroquette, a private detective who is hired to find a missing woman named Mazie. It is soon revealed that Mazie is the daughter of a wealthy businessman named Hale, who has received a ransom demand for her safe return.

In order to aid in the search, Larroquette enlists the help of a psychic named Bobby, played by Bronson Pinchot. Despite his initial skepticism, Larroquette comes to rely on Bobby's visions and insights to guide their investigation. Along the way, they encounter a variety of quirky characters, including a would-be assassin named Vinnie, played by Bess Armstrong.

As they follow the trail of clues, Larroquette and Bobby must navigate their own personal conflicts, including Larroquette's crumbling marriage and Bobby's fear of being isolated from the outside world. However, their determination to find Mazie and bring her home safely ultimately leads them to a surprising revelation about her whereabouts and the true motivation behind her disappearance.

Overall, Second Sight is a lighthearted and entertaining mystery-comedy that showcases the talents of Larroquette and Pinchot, both of whom deliver engaging performances.
