Screwed is a 2000 comedy film directed by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. The film stars Norm MacDonald as Willard Fillmore, a chauffeur who plots to kidnap his rich boss's (played by Elaine Stritch) beloved lapdog and hold it for ransom.
Willard enlists the help of his dimwitted best friend Rusty (played by Dave Chappelle) to carry out the plan. Things start to go awry when the dog accidentally escapes from their hideout and finds her way back to her owner's home.
Assuming that Willard has been kidnapped, the rich boss sets out to rescue him with the help of a private detective (played by Danny DeVito). Willard and Rusty must then navigate their way through a series of mishaps and misunderstandings to try and regain control of the situation and get their ransom money.
The film also stars Sarah Silverman as a dog walker with a crush on Willard, and Sherman Hemsley as the butler to Elaine Stritch's character.
Screwed received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office disappointment, grossing just over $7 million worldwide. However, it has since gained a cult following among fans of MacDonald, Chappelle, and DeVito.
