After losing her job, Beth finds herself struggling to make ends meet and becomes homeless. She tries to keep her situation a secret from her brother Ben, who she has been estranged from for years due to a family feud. Beth finds herself living in her car and doing odd jobs to earn money to survive.
One day, while doing a job, Beth meets a kind woman named Susan who offers to help her out with some food and clothes. Susan takes an interest in Beth's situation and offers to let her stay with her, but Beth hesitates, not wanting to burden anyone.
