Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a 2010 action-comedy film directed by Edgar Wright and based on the graphic novel series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O'Malley. The film stars Michael Cera as the titular character, a slacker and bassist for the garage band Sex Bob-omb.
When Scott meets Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), he falls for her instantly and pursues her despite her emotionally distant behavior. However, he soon learns that to be with Ramona, he must defeat her seven evil exes, who each possess unique powers and skills.
As Scott battles the exes one by one, he gains a deeper understanding of himself and his relationships, as well as the importance of standing up for what he believes in. Along the way, he is helped by his friends, including his bandmates, his sister Stacey (Anna Kendrick), and his roommate Wallace Wells (Kieran Culkin).
