Scorched is a crime-comedy film that tells the story of three bank tellers who come up with a plan to rob their own bank. The three tellers are Shmally, Stuart and Woody, who are all dissatisfied with their lives and see the heist as a way to start anew.
The plan is to stage two simultaneous robberies, one to distract the police while the other completes the actual robbery. But the plan goes awry when a janitor unwittingly switches the bags containing the stolen money, causing chaos and confusion among the robbers.
Meanwhile, a private detective named Kreme becomes involved in the investigation and begins to uncover the truth behind the heist. The three tellers are forced to try and cover their tracks and avoid getting caught by Kreme and the police.
Scorched stars a host of well-known actors including Alicia Silverstone, Woody Harrelson, John Cleese, and Rachael Leigh Cook. The film is directed by Gavin Grazer and was released in 2003. It received mixed reviews but was praised for its sharp humor and clever plot twists.
