Scooby and the gang are visiting their old friend Eric at the university where he works. Eric has created a new virtual reality game based on their past adventures, but things go wrong when the game's villain, the Phantom Virus, becomes sentient and traps them inside the game. The gang must navigate through different levels of the virtual world, including a haunted castle and a prehistoric jungle, and defeat the Phantom Virus at each one. Along the way, they encounter familiar faces, like the Black Knight Ghost and the Creeper, who have also been digitized by the virus. Despite the challenges, Scooby and the gang use their teamwork and wits to overcome each obstacle and eventually defeat the Phantom Virus in a final showdown. In the end, they are able to escape the game and return to the real world.
