Scissors is a psychological thriller film directed by Frank De Felitta and released in 1991. The movie follows the story of a young woman named Angie Anderson (played by Sharon Stone) who works as a hairdresser in Los Angeles. Angie is a loner who suffers from a traumatic incident in her past, which has caused her to develop a fear of open spaces.
One night, Angie is attacked in the elevator of her apartment building by an unknown assailant who tries to cut her hair. After the attack, Angie meets her neighbours, the brothers Alex (played by Steve Railsback) and Cole (played by Ronny Cox). Alex is a reclusive artist, haunted by a tragic event from his past, while Cole is a friendly and outgoing lawyer who develops a crush on Angie.
As Angie recovers from her trauma with the help of her therapist, Dr. Steven Carter (played by Scott Wilson), she is invited to a mysterious apartment by a woman named Eve (played by Michelle Phillips). There, Angie is introduced to a group of eccentric and disturbed people who share her obsession with hair.
As Angie becomes more and more involved with the group, she realizes that her attackers might be among them. Meanwhile, Alex's secret obsession with cutting hair and his eerie art exhibit featuring hair sculptures of his victims begin to unravel, putting Angie in grave danger.
The movie builds up to a suspenseful and shocking climax as Angie tries to escape from Alex and his hair obsession, while the truth about the attack in the elevator is revealed. Scissors offers a haunting and twisted psychological thriller that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats till the very end.
