Scarecrow is a 1973 American film directed by Jerry Schatzberg and starring Al Pacino and Gene Hackman. The movie follows the story of two drifters, Max Millan (Pacino) and Francis Lionel “Lion” Delbuchi (Hackman), who meet in California and become close friends as they bum around and make their way across the country.
Max is a former sailor who is sensitive and artistic, while Lion is gruff and violent, having spent time in jail. Along the way, the duo meet a series of earthy women, including a pregnant hitchhiker and a woman with whom Max has a romantic encounter.
