Scappo a Casa is an Italian comedy movie centered around Betty, a woman in her 60s who has lost the passion and purpose for life. She is bored with her job, her husband, and her life in general. Her monotonous life takes an unexpected turn when she is mistakenly kidnapped by a band of Nigerian criminals who are in pursuit of another woman with a similar name.
On realizing their mistake, the kidnappers release Betty, but the incident jolts her and wakes her up from the monotony of her life. She decides to embark on a journey of self-discovery, running away from everything and everyone, including her husband. Betty sets off to find the other woman who was intended to be kidnapped and uncovers a new purpose in life by helping the woman and her community.
Throughout the journey, Betty meets new people, including an African migrant, a former actor, and an Italian thief. With each encounter, she gains a new perspective and sense of fulfillment that she had never experienced before.
As Betty finally prepares to go back home, she realizes that she is not the same person who left. She has found a new purpose and appreciation for life and is eager to continue on this new path when she returns home.
