Saw V follows detective Mark Hoffman, who has been aiding the infamous Jigsaw killer in his deadly games. After Jigsaw's death, Hoffman believes he is the only one left to continue his legacy. However, when a new wave of murders begin, it becomes clear that someone else is carrying on Jigsaw's work.
As Hoffman investigates, he realizes that one of Jigsaw's previous victims may have information that could expose his involvement. In a race against time, he must eliminate all the loose ends before his secrets are revealed.
Meanwhile, a group of strangers find themselves trapped in another one of Jigsaw's deadly games, each with a connection to Hoffman and his past. As they struggle to survive, they begin to uncover the truth behind Jigsaw's twisted legacy and the role Hoffman played in it.
Saw V features more of the gruesome traps and moral dilemmas that the franchise is known for, as well as further exploring the complex relationships between the characters. In the end, Hoffman's loyalty to Jigsaw and his own twisted sense of justice are put to the test in a shocking finale.
