Once the outlaw, named Jake, is recovered enough to travel, he reluctantly agrees to guide Sister Mary, the nun, through the treacherous Badlands. Along the way, they encounter several obstacles, including dangerous bandits, harsh weather conditions, and impassable terrain.
As they make their way towards Williston, Jake's past comes back to haunt him when his former gang members catch up with him, putting both him and Sister Mary in grave danger. However, Sister Mary proves to be more resourceful and brave than she initially appeared, and together they fend off the bandits.
As they continue their journey, they begin to reveal more of their personal stories, with Jake opening up about his troubled past and Sister Mary sharing her own struggles with faith and doubt. Their discussions lead to a deeper understanding and mutual respect for each other.
When they finally reach the Church in Williston, they are met with a surprising revelation. The Church is no longer standing, having been destroyed in a fire, and the religious community has disbanded. Disheartened but undeterred, Sister Mary and Jake come up with a plan to rebuild the Church and bring the community back together.
Sanctified is a story about the power of redemption and unlikely friendships.
