Samurai Cop is a 1991 action film directed by Amir Shervan. The film stars Mathew Karedas as Joe Marshall, a tough-talking police officer nicknamed "The Samurai" who is called in to help the LAPD take down a powerful Yakuza organization that has set up shop in the city.
Marshall is partnered with another officer, Frank Washington (played by Mark Frazer), and together they embark on a mission to dismantle the Yakuza's criminal empire. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including a flamboyant hairstylist, a seductive nightclub singer, and a ruthless Yakuza boss named Fuj Fujiyama.
The film is known for its over-the-top action sequences, cheesy dialogue, and low-budget special effects. Despite its flaws, Samurai Cop has developed a cult following in recent years and is considered a classic of "so-bad-it's-good" cinema. The film's popularity has even spawned a sequel, Samurai Cop 2: Deadly Vengeance, which was released in 2015.
