The movie Salvation Boulevard follows the life of Carl Vanderveer, a former Deadhead who has converted to Christianity and joined a mega-church led by Reverend Dan Day. However, one day after a debate with a famous atheist, Dr. Paul Blaylock, Carl accidentally witnesses the murder of Blaylock by Reverend Day.
Fearing for his life and unwilling to be a part of the cover-up orchestrated by the church members, Carl goes on the run. He is pursued by a relentless group of fundamentalist church members who believe that he is a part of the conspiracy against their pastor. Carl must find a way to clear his name and expose the truth behind Reverend Day's actions before it's too late.
As Carl navigates through a world of deceit, power struggles, and manipulation within the mega-church, he relies on unlikely allies, including his wife Gwen, a security guard named Honey, and a pot-smoking ex-hippie turned security expert named Jim.
The movie is a satirical take on the religious fundamentalism and hypocrisy often found within mega-churches and televangelism. It features an all-star cast including Pierce Brosnan as Reverend Dan Day, Jennifer Connelly as Gwen Vanderveer, Ed Harris as Dr. Paul Blaylock, and Marisa Tomei as Honey.
