Ben Mears is a successful writer who has returned to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot to write a book about the Marsten House, a mansion that has been abandoned for years. The house has a dark history, and many of the town's residents believe it is haunted.
Mears discovers that the new owner of the mansion is a reclusive man named Kurt Barlow. Barlow has been buying up property around Salem's Lot, and his intentions appear to be nefarious.
As Mears investigates the Marsten House, he becomes increasingly convinced that there is something supernatural at work. When people around the house start dying mysteriously, he realizes that Barlow is actually a vampire who is turning them into his undead slaves.
Mears enlists the help of a small group of people, including a doctor named Bill Norton and a young boy named Mark Petrie, to stop Barlow and his army of vampires. They face many obstacles along the way, including their own disbelief in the supernatural, but ultimately they are able to destroy Barlow and his minions.
Salem's Lot is a gripping horror movie that is based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. It was released in 1979 and stars David Soul, James Mason, and Lance Kerwin.
