Saint Maud is a psychological horror film directed by Rose Glass and released in 2019. The film follows Maud, a young nurse who has recently found God and becomes increasingly obsessed with saving the soul of her patient, the hedonistic dancer Amanda. As Maud spends more time with Amanda, she becomes convinced that it is her duty to save her from eternal damnation.

However, Maud's own past is gradually revealed through a series of flashbacks, and it becomes apparent that she is struggling with her own demons. Her religious fervor borders on fanaticism, and she begins to engage in self-harm as a means of purifying herself.

As the film progresses, Maud's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, leading to a shocking finale that subverts expectations and leaves viewers questioning the nature of faith, mental illness, and redemption. Saint Maud has been praised for its atmospheric tension, haunting visuals, and powerful lead performance by Morfydd Clark as Maud.
