In the movie Safe House, Denzel Washington plays Tobin Frost, a former CIA operative who has been on the run for over a decade. Frost is a dangerous asset to the government as he possesses sensitive information about the CIA's operations. Ryan Reynolds plays Matt Weston, a rookie CIA operative who is stationed in a safe house in South Africa.
When a team of mercenaries, led by Vargas (played by Fares Fares), attacks the safe house, Weston is forced to escape with Frost. Weston and Frost have to navigate their way through the streets of Cape Town as they try to uncover who wants them dead. As they work together to evade their pursuers, Weston learns that Frost is not who he thought he was, and there is more to his story than meets the eye.
Safe House is an action-thriller that is full of intense and fast-paced scenes. The chemistry between Washington and Reynolds is palpable, and the film is entertaining from start to finish. The movie was directed by Daniel Espinosa and released in 2012.
