Lost in Seoul: The Saem Confusion

Drama  South Korea

Saem is a Korean movie that explores the complexities of the human mind and the challenges faced by people with prosopagnosia. This condition, also known as face blindness, makes it difficult for the person suffering from it to recognize faces, even of those close to them.

The protagonist of the movie, Dusang, suffers from prosopagnosia and embarks on a journey to Seoul to find his first love, Saem. As soon as he arrives, he encounters three women who resemble Saem to him, and he begins to see them as one and the same person.

The first woman, Yeonseo, is a young woman who runs a small bakery. Dusang finds himself drawn to her and begins to believe that she is Saem. Despite her confusion, Yeonseo tries to help Dusang in his quest to find Saem.

The second woman, Sun-joo, is an artist who specializes in creating sculptures. Dusang meets her at an art exhibit, and she bears a striking resemblance to Saem. However, Sun-joo is engaged to be married and is not interested in Dusang's advances.

The third woman, Hyeon-ji, is a music teacher who comes into Dusang's life when he attends a concert. She, too, appears to be Saem in his eyes, and he becomes infatuated with her.

As Dusang's search for Saem continues, he begins to struggle with his own identity. The film explores the struggles faced by people with prosopagnosia and how it affects their perception of the world. Saem is a story of love, identity, and the complexities of the human mind.
