In Sadako, a group of people led by a young psychologist named Mayu Akikawa (played by Elaiza Ikeda) try to uncover the mystery behind the sudden outbreak of the deadly curse after a Youtuber named Kazuma (Hiroya Shimizu) recorded a terrifying video of a girl trapped in a well.
Mayu discovers that the curse is linked to the tragic death of a young girl named Tomoko who, along with her mother, was thrown into a well by her father. Tomoko's ghost seeks revenge on those who ignore her cries for help, and once her image is captured on camera, the curse begins to spread rapidly.
Mayu teams up with Kazuma and his girlfriend, who also captured the ghost on camera, to try and break the curse before it kills them all. The trio uses technology and science to unravel the mystery and eventually uncovers a shocking truth about Tomoko's death.
As the clock ticks, Mayu and her team must race against time to find a way to stop the curse before it claims more innocent lives. Can they break the curse and put Tomoko's spirit to rest, or will they fall victim to her wrath?
