Sabata is a 1969 Italian Spaghetti Western film directed by Gianfranco Parolini. The film follows Sabata (played by Lee Van Cleef), a master gunslinger who is hired by a wealthy army colonel to retrieve $100,000 that has been stolen from an Army safe by several pillars of society, including a banker, a judge, and a sheriff. Sabata quickly discovers that the theft was part of a larger scheme to buy the land upon which the coming railroad will be built.

Sabata enlists the help of two fellow gunslingers, Banjo (played by William Berger) and Carrincha (played by Pedro Sanchez), to track down the thieves and recover the stolen money. Along the way, they encounter a variety of enemies, including a group of bandits led by a Mexican revolutionary and a corrupt saloon owner.

As Sabata gets closer to the truth, he discovers a shocking plot that involves not only the theft of the money, but also the murder of the Army colonel who hired him. In the end, Sabata must use all of his skills as a gunslinger to outwit his enemies and bring them to justice.

Sabata is a classic Spaghetti Western that is known for its thrilling action sequences, memorable characters, and unforgettable soundtrack by composer Marcello Giombini. The film was a hit with audiences and spawned two sequels, Adiós, Sabata (1970) and Return of Sabata (1971).
