In the movie RV, Bob McNeive, played by Robin Williams, is a workaholic dad who has been neglecting his family. He decides to take his wife, Jamie, and their two kids, 15-year-old Cassie and 12-year-old Carl, on a road trip in an RV to reconnect with them.
Bob rents a huge RV, which he struggles to control, and sets off with his family towards the Rockies. Along the way, they encounter various mishaps and obstacles which test their patience and unity, including a run-in with an overly friendly family and a mishap with the RV's septic tank.
As they get closer to their destination, tensions rise and secrets are revealed, including Bob's intention to meet with a potential buyer for his company during the trip. This revelation causes a major rift between Bob and his family, and they go their separate ways for a while.
As they try to find their way back to each other, they face more challenges, including a dangerous drive through a narrow mountain road and a terrifying encounter with a storm. In the end, they all come back together, having learned to appreciate each other and the importance of family.
RV is a heartwarming comedy-drama about the importance of family, and the ups and downs of a cross-country road trip.
