Gwendolyn's mother and aunt have been preparing Charlotte for time travel her entire life, and Gwendolyn is caught off guard when she discovers the truth about her own abilities. In this world, time travel is governed by an organization known as the Lodge, which keeps a tight control on the time travelers and their movements.
Gwendolyn must navigate this world of intrigue and danger while also trying to maintain a normal teenage life in the present day. She is aided by Gideon, a charismatic time traveler who initially seems to be working against her, but with whom she eventually forms a deeper connection.
As Gwendolyn travels back and forth through time, she learns about a conspiracy to overthrow the Lodge and control time travel for personal gain. She and Gideon must work together to uncover the truth and prevent a catastrophic event that could change the course of history.
Through it all, Gwendolyn grapples with the weight of her newfound powers and the responsibility that comes with them. She must balance her desire for a normal life with the knowledge that she is capable of altering the course of time itself.
