The movie Ruby follows the story of Jack Ruby, a nightclub owner in Dallas, and a stripper named Candy Cane. Ruby becomes involved in a conspiracy to kill President John F. Kennedy after meeting with a group of Anti-Castro Cuban exiles. The exiles enlist Ruby to kill Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin of JFK, before he can implicate them in the assassination plot.
Meanwhile, Candy Cane is struggling to make a living as a stripper and dreams of a better life. She is drawn into the conspiracy when one of the exiles hires her to deliver a package to Ruby. When Candy realizes that the package contains a gun, she becomes fearful and tries to back out of the situation.
As the assassination plot unfolds, Ruby becomes increasingly paranoid and goes into hiding. Candy, who has fallen for Ruby, tries to track him down and protect him from the dangerous people he has become involved with. In the end, both Ruby and Candy are caught up in the chaos surrounding the Kennedy assassination and must face the consequences of their actions.
