In the movie Roxanne, C.D. Bales is the fire chief in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. He has an unusually large nose, which he is self-conscious about. Despite this physical feature, he is an intelligent and witty man and well-liked by the townspeople.
When the beautiful Roxanne arrives in town, C.D. falls for her immediately. However, he thinks she could never love him because of his nose. Roxanne, on the other hand, is drawn to C.D.'s personality and wit.
Things become complicated when Chris, a new firefighter in town, also falls for Roxanne. Chris is handsome but not very smart, and he asks C.D. to help him win Roxanne's heart. C.D. reluctantly agrees, providing Chris with romantic lines to win Roxanne over.
As the love triangle between C.D., Roxanne, and Chris heats up, C.D. begins to realize that Roxanne's true love is for him and not just the words he helped Chris say. He starts to become more confident and pursues Roxanne himself, revealing his feelings for her.
In the end, Roxanne chooses C.D. over Chris, and the two finally get together. The movie ends on a positive note, with C.D. embracing his unique physical feature and realizing that true beauty lies within oneself.
