The movie follows Joyce, a lonely widow living in a small town, who decides to rent out a room in her house to a young man named Bob. Initially, Joyce is excited to have someone to talk to and spend time with, as she has been feeling isolated and alone since her husband's death.
However, as time goes on, Joyce begins to develop an unhealthy and dangerous obsession with Bob. She starts to spy on him and become overly involved in his life, even going so far as to sabotage his relationships and job opportunities.
As Joyce's behavior becomes more erratic and concerning, Bob begins to realize that he needs to get out of the house before things escalate any further. But Joyce is not willing to let him go, and she becomes increasingly desperate and dangerous as she tries to hold on to Bob and keep him under her control.
The movie is a dark exploration of loneliness, obsession, and the dangers of unchecked desire, as well as a tense and unsettling thriller that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
