Kristen is a college student who decides to take a break from her studies and return home. However, when she arrives home, she finds that a handsome stranger named Jake is living in her old room. Initially irritated by this, Kristen soon warms up to Jake and the two become friends.
However, Kristen's world is turned upside down when she discovers that her mother Moira is involved with Jake romantically. Despite her initial shock, Kristen decides to try and make things work between the three of them. But as time passes, she begins to suspect that Jake is hiding something from them.
Her suspicions are confirmed when she discovers that Jake has a dangerous past as a hitman.
