Ronal the Barbarian is a 2011 Danish animated film directed by Thorbjørn Christoffersen, Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen, and Philip Einstein Lipski. The film's main character, Ronal, is voiced by Anders Juul.
The story takes place in a legendary barbarian kingdom. Ronal is a weak and insecure barbarian who doesn't fit in with the muscular and courageous warriors in his village. When Lord Volcazar, a powerful villain, attacks the village and captures all the other barbarians, Ronal is left behind because of his cowardly nature. Ronal is forced to embark on a dangerous quest to rescue his fellow villagers and stop Volcazar from taking over the world.
Ronal is initially hesitant to take on the task, but he soon finds the courage he never knew he had. Along the way, Ronal is joined by three unlikely companions. Alibert the bard, played by Hadi Ka-Koush, is a charming and humorous character who provides comic relief. Zandra the shield-maiden, voiced by Lærke Winther, is a strong and beautiful warrior who helps Ronal fight off the villains. Elric the elfin guide, played by Brian Lykke, is a sassy and flirtatious character who provides guidance to the group.
The group faces many obstacles in their journey, including battling fierce monsters and navigating treacherous landscapes. They must also infiltrate Volcazar's heavily guarded castle to rescue their fellow barbarians. Along the way, Ronal discovers his own strength and courage and becomes a true hero.
The film features stunning animation, with detailed and colorful landscapes, elaborate fight scenes, and memorable characters.
