Rommel is a 2012 biographical war drama film about the final seven months in the life of German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel during World War II. The film explores the internal conflicts of Rommel as he struggles with the morality of the Nazi regime and his loyalty to his country.
The movie begins in 1944 with Rommel at the height of his military career and his appointment as the commander of Army Group B in Northern France. As the Allies prepare for the D-Day invasion, Rommel becomes increasingly disillusioned with the Nazi leadership and their strategic decisions.
