Romasanta is a Spanish horror film released in 2004. It is based on the true story of Manuel Blanco Romasanta, who claimed to be a werewolf and was accused of murdering at least 13 people in the mid-19th century.
The movie portrays Romasanta as a charming traveling salesman who catches the eye of young women, including Barbara, who falls for his charms. However, as the disappearances in the area start happening, she begins to grow suspicious of him.
As the investigation into the murders progresses, Romasanta is captured and put on trial. He claims to be a werewolf and that he transforms into the creature when the moon is full, committing the murders in a bestial state. His defense attorney argues that he is not responsible for his actions as he is suffering from a psychological disorder, and should be considered insane.
