The movie Rolling on the Road follows the journey of George, a former rockstar who is struggling to come to terms with his new reality. He is rarely sober and spends most of his time reminiscing about his glory days. His wife, who has had enough of his erratic behavior, files for divorce and kicks him out of the house.
George then moves in with his girlfriend, a soap massage parlor worker, who is supportive of him but also sees through his façade. Their relationship is complicated, as George finds it difficult to commit to her and frequently cheats on her.
One day, George gets a call from his former bandmate, who invites him to join them on a reunion tour. George sees this as a chance to relive his past and make a comeback. He convinces his girlfriend to come along on the tour, hoping to reignite their relationship.
As the tour progresses, George begins to realize that he is not the same person he was when he was a rockstar. He is disappointed to see that the music industry has changed, and he is no longer relevant. He also realizes that he has been using his past as a crutch and needs to move forward.
The movie ends with George and his girlfriend parting ways, as she realizes that she deserves better than him. George finally acknowledges that he needs to get his life together and starts to work on his sobriety. He decides to try to make amends with his family as he moves forward, unsure of what the future holds.
