Rollerball is a 2002 action film directed by John McTiernan and starring Chris Klein, Jean Reno, and LL Cool J. The movie is a remake of the 1975 film of the same name.

Set in a dystopian future, the sport of Rollerball has become extremely popular, with players skating around a circular track while trying to score points by placing a metal ball into a hoop. The sport is brutal, with violent collisions, and often results in serious injuries or even death.

Jonathan Cross (Chris Klein) is a talented Rollerball player, teaming up with his best friend Marcus Ridley (LL Cool J), and coached by former champion Markus Kane (Jean Reno). However, they soon discover that the sport is rigged, as the ruthless promoter Alexi Petrovich (played by Jean Reno) plans to manipulate the game in order to boost ratings.

Jonathan and Marcus attempt to quit the sport, but Petrovich threatens to harm them and their loved ones if they do not continue to play. Jonathan also becomes romantically involved with Aurora (Rebecca Romijn), a journalist investigating Petrovich's criminal activities.

As they continue playing Rollerball, Jonathan, Marcus, and Aurora uncover a sinister conspiracy orchestrated by Petrovich and his financial backers to keep the sport dangerous and deadly, all while raking in huge profits. In a thrilling climax, Jonathan and his team must fight for their lives as they battle against Petrovich and his thugs in a deadly Rollerball match.

Despite some mixed reviews, Rollerball remains a cult classic, appreciated for its frenetic action sequences, stylish visuals, and social commentary on the dangers of greed and corporate corruption in sports.
