Skate Rebels: Defying the Mobster's Rule

Roller Boogie is an American romantic musical drama film directed by Mark L. Lester. The film takes place in Venice, California, where Bobby James (played by Linda Blair), a young amateur roller skater, and Terry Barkley (played by Jim Bray), a wealthy young man with an interest in classical music, meet and fall in love.
Bobby and Terry both frequent the same roller rink, where they practice their skating skills and prepare for the upcoming Boogie Contest, a highly anticipated roller skating competition. However, their plans for the competition are jeopardized when a powerful mobster named Thatcher (played by Mark Goddard) attempts to take over the land the roller rink is on, in order to build a shopping mall.
Bobby and Terry join forces with their roller skating friends to fight against Thatcher and his goons, and save their beloved roller rink from being destroyed. Along the way, they perform numerous roller skating stunts and routines, while also dealing with personal conflicts and challenges in their relationship.
The film features a soundtrack filled with disco and funk music, featuring songs such as "Boogie Wonderland" by Earth, Wind & Fire and "Love Fire" by Carol Douglas. It also stars Beverly Garland as Bobby's supportive mother, and Sean McClory as the owner of the roller rink.
