Rock-A-Doodle is a 1991 animated musical film directed by Don Bluth and produced by Goldcrest Films. The film is loosely based on the play Chanticleer by Edmond Rostand and features a mix of live-action and traditional animation.

The film follows the story of Chanticleer, a rooster who believes that his crowing makes the sun rise every morning. However, when Chanticleer fails to crow one morning and the sun still rises, he is mocked and ridiculed by the other animals on the farm. Feeling ashamed and defeated, Chanticleer decides to leave the farm and pursue his dream of becoming a rock star.

Meanwhile, a malevolent owl named The Grand Duke plots to eliminate the sun so he can rule the world in eternal darkness. To achieve his nefarious goal, The Grand Duke sends his minions, a trio of bumbling farm animals, to capture Chanticleer and bring him back to the farm to crow once again.

As Chanticleer searches for success as a rock singer in the city, he begins to realize that he has left behind his true purpose and the friends and family he loves. With the help of a young boy named Edmund and his friends from the farm, Chanticleer must find a way to overcome his doubts and defeat The Grand Duke before it's too late.

The film features an all-star cast of voice actors, including Glen Campbell as Chanticleer, Christopher Plummer as The Grand Duke, and Phil Harris as Patou the hound. The film is known for its catchy musical numbers and colorful animation, and was a moderate success upon its release.
