Dori's Quest for the Perfect Prom Dress

Music  United States of America

Rock Rock Rock! is a musical film released in 1956, directed by Will Price and starring Tuesday Weld as Dori Graham. Dori is a teenage girl who dreams of wearing a strapless gown to her prom, but her father refuses to buy it for her. Desperate to get the dress, Dori decides to raise the money herself by organizing a rock and roll show. She enlists the help of her friend, a local disc jockey named Alan Freed, who agrees to host the show for her.

Dori and Alan start recruiting local musicians to perform at the show, including the legendary Chuck Berry. As the show approaches, Dori faces a number of challenges, including opposition from her father and the school principal, who don't approve of rock and roll music. Despite these obstacles, the show is a success and Dori is able to raise the money for her dress.

Along the way, the film features a number of musical performances from popular artists of the time, including The Moonglows, The Flamingos, and The Teenagers. The film also explores themes of teenage rebellion and the generation gap, as Dori and her peers struggle to find their own identity in a rapidly changing world. Rock Rock Rock! is considered a classic of the rock and roll genre and is notable for its early depictions of the music and culture that would define the 1950s.
