Robin and the 7 Hoods is a 1964 musical comedy film directed by Gordon Douglas and starring the famous Rat Pack. The film is a gangster parody of the classic tale of Robin Hood set in Chicago during the prohibition era.

The story follows Robin and his gang - Little John, Will, and Alan A Dale - who belong to the North Side gang led by Robbo (Frank Sinatra). When the South Side gang led by Guy Gisborne (Peter Falk) kills their boss, Big Jim, Robbo's gang refuses to join Guy's crew. Robbo decides to protect his territory, even though he is clearly underpowered.

Robbo meets Allen A. Dale (Bing Crosby), a kind-hearted worker who runs a nearby orphanage, and they agree to work together. Robbo donates a check of $50,000 to the orphanage and becomes a hero in the neighborhood, with a reputation as a gangster who helps the poor and needy, similar to Robin Hood.

Marian Stevens (Barbara Rush), Big Jim's daughter, appears on the scene and wants to take control of her father's business. However, she finds that none of her father's former associates want to work for her and end up being killed by Guy's crew. Eventually, Marian meets and falls for Robbo, but she keeps her identity a secret as she joins the gang.

As the story unfolds, Robin and his gang become more embroiled in the Chicago gang wars and battles against Guy's crew for control of the city. Along the way, they sing and dance, with memorable musical numbers such as “Style”, “My Kind of Town”.

In the end, Robbo and his gang succeed in defeating Guy and his crew while Marian reveals herself as Big Jim's daughter and takes control of her father's business. Robin and his merry men sing and dance one last time before the credits roll.

Overall, Robin and the 7 Hoods is an enjoyable, lighthearted musical that parodies the classic Robin Hood tale. It features a star-studded cast, catchy musical numbers, and a charming, comedic storyline.
