In the movie Road Trip, Josh, played by Breckin Meyer, accidentally mails a videotape of himself having sex with another girl to his long-distance girlfriend Tiffany, played by Rachel Blanchard. In a panic, he and his friends E.L., played by Seann William Scott, Rubin, played by Paul Costanzo, and Kyle, played by DJ Qualls, concoct a plan to drive from Ithaca, New York to Austin, Texas to retrieve the tape before Tiffany sees it.

Along the way, they have various misadventures, including a run-in with a snake, getting held at gunpoint, and accidentally stealing a bus full of elderly people. They also encounter various quirky characters, like a motel clerk who gives them a strange drug and a nurse who helps them fix a piercing gone wrong.

As they get closer to Texas, Josh begins to have second thoughts about whether he wants to stay with Tiffany or explore his feelings for his friend Beth, played by Amy Smart. Ultimately, they reach Texas and successfully retrieve the tape, but not without consequences for their actions.
