Rita and Sue are both 15-year-old schoolgirls who come from working-class families and live in a dingy council estate in Bradford, Yorkshire. They work as babysitters for Michelle and Bob who are a married couple with three children.
One evening, Bob offers to give them a lift home and takes them to a deserted country-side landscape. He then takes advantage of the situation and has sexual encounters with both girls. Initially hesitant, Rita and Sue are soon willingly participating in these sexual acts.
As their relationship with Bob continues, they keep it a secret from everyone, including Michelle. They soon start to enjoy the excitement of their secret rendezvous, which takes place in Bob's car in various locations around the countryside.
Over time, Bob develops deeper feelings for Sue and tells her that he wants to leave his wife and be with her instead. However, Sue is not interested in anything more than a casual sexual relationship and decides to end things with him.
When Michelle eventually finds out about the affair, she is devastated and feels betrayed by both Rita and Sue. She forces Bob to leave the family home, but he is able to maintain his relationship with the girls.
The film portrays the harsh realities of working-class life in a visually stunning way, showing the bleakness of the council estate and the beauty of the countryside that surrounds it. It also explores issues of power, class, and sexuality in a way that is both shocking and humorous.
