Joel Goodson, played by Tom Cruise, is a high school senior whose parents leave him home alone while they go on vacation. Initially, Joel tries to stay on top of his studies and keep the house in order. But soon, he becomes bored and decides to have some fun. He calls a call girl named Lana, played by Rebecca De Mornay, and they have a wild night together.
The next morning, Joel wakes up to find that Lana has stolen his mother's diamond necklace. He tries to track her down to get it back but is unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Joel's best friend, Miles, convinces him to turn his house into a brothel for the weekend and make some money.
Things get out of hand when a pimp named Guido gets involved and demands his cut of the profits. Joel and Lana team up to scam Guido and get the necklace back. In the end, Joel's parents come home to find their house in shambles, but Joel has learned some valuable life lessons along the way.
Risky Business was a hit movie in 1983 and helped launch Tom Cruise's career. It has become a classic coming-of-age story of a teenager trying to find himself and having to deal with the consequences of his actions.
