Right Before Your Eyes is a heartfelt drama film that tells the story of Ethan Rengepis, a recovering alcoholic who is trying to turn his life around. He has been sober for six months and is determined to stay that way. However, the journey home to see his autistic son proves to be a challenging one.
As he boards the train, Ethan strikes up a conversation with a stranger, Ambrose, who is also heading in the same direction. Ambrose quickly becomes the sounding board for Ethan's story and his struggles with addiction. As they continue to converse, Ethan opens up to Ambrose about his past, and how he ended up in rehab.
As the train journey progresses, Ethan becomes increasingly overwhelmed as he knows he will have to face his young son whom he has never met. He is tormented by his past mistakes and the life he could have had with his son if he hadn't struggled with alcoholism.
The two men continue to talk, and Ambrose offers Ethan words of encouragement and helps him build up the courage to face his son. When Ethan finally reaches his destination, he is met with his ex-wife and his autistic son, who he is finally able to hold and embrace.
Right Before Your Eyes is a touching film about redemption, forgiveness, and the battles that people face when trying to move forward from a troubled past.
